The Collection of the Architekturmuseum der TUM
The extensive stocks are the historical „memory“ of the architectural faculty, including documents from the 16th century up to today. Due to the bequests of important architects the collection is continually growing. At present the biggest special and research archive of architecture in Germany comprises ca. 500,000 drawings and plans of approximately 700 architects, over 100,000 original photographs as well as numerous models and documents. The main focus is on the German architecture from the 19th up to the 21st century, the scope ranging from reputable architects such as Balthasar Neumann to Le Corbusier and from Leo von Klenze to Peter Zumthor.
DigitAM - The digital database of the archive | DFG-Project
From June 2009 the Architekturmuseum together with the University Library of the TUM, supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), are starting the digitalization of the collection of plans in its archives.
The DFG-project is aimed at safeguarding the most valuable stocks of the Architekturmuseum, facilitating their administration and making them optimally accessible for research and teaching purposes as well as for the general public.
