Digitize built Jewish heritage. Documentation, networking, preservation.

In Germany, a special attention that goes beyond general cultural-heritage-debates, characterizes the way the built heritage of Jewish culture and history is handled. With regard to the Holocaust, the preserved buildings and facilities such as cemeteries, synagogues, ritual baths, schools, hospitals and many other institutions have a significance as a memorial testimony, a place of remembrance, a memorial. Various aspects of digitisation offer opportunities for a deeper, networked knowledge of these objects and their contexts, but also for their preservation, research and communication.
